A Voice of Faith - A Voice of Conscience

Interfaith Impact of New York State is the progressive religious community's united voice for social change in New York State. We advocate for justice together so that our voice may be heard clearly. We speak especially for those left behind at society's margins. We engage policy primarily through contacts with people of faith statewide, encouraging your faith community to become active in public advocacy.

IINYS is a coalition of progressive people of faith organized by New York State's mainstream Protestant churches, Unitarian Universalist societies and Reform Jewish congregations. As a 501 (c) 4 organization we engage policies but do not engage in partisan politics.

Interfaith IMPACT addresses emerging public policies and their legislative implications from the shared faith traditions of its constituencies. The mandate for this derives from the historic teaching of our faith in God and humankind, which calls upon all people to participate in the ongoing work of perfecting the world. We witness boldly, while maintaining the integrity of non-profit religious bodies on whose behalf we speak. We engage in policy; we do not engage in politics.

For too long, the voice of the faith community has been narrowly defined to mean the voice of the radical right. It's time to reclaim the good works of Christians, Jews and Unitarian Universalists who are not afraid to stand up for progressive principles and social justice. It's time for the Voice of Faith to be heard as the Voice of Reason and Compassion.
